Denver Fan Expo 2025

Thursday

Rolled in to Denver in the morning, hit our hotel and got ready. Realized too late I left my Nun habit at home so opted for a sexy vampire instead of Alastor. Sad day. Bothered Amir, gave him his FANCY SANTA Christmas PJs. I'm the best fan, I know, I know. 

Friday

Spent way longer than I wanted on this prosthetic, but it turned out okay. The con lighting is harsh and helped hide the edges. Meeting James was fantastic. He was super nice. Did the photo op and then he asked me to come by his table so he could put me on his Instagram. The autograph line got a bit screwed up and we ended up waiting for two hours but it was worth it. He was an absolute pleasure. 

Saturday

Met Brendan and it was so awesome. He is so sweet and just seems like a kind human being. I was surprised how few cosplayers doing his characters. Went to the Anime After Dark thing, was a bit disappointing. 

Sunday

Dogshittiredday. Was going to do Loki but ended up as Spider Gwen. But my darling sister surprised me by dressing as Sylvie so I changed haha. Stood in line to have Brendon sign our photo and met John Rhys-Davies, he was just a delight. Got dinner and off to the airport I went. 

Con Review

The last time I was at this event was 2018. At that time it was Denver Comic Con. Its been through some changes. Lets go over the good and the bad. 

Good: 

• Much bigger - I remember 2018 being very unimpressive.
• Excellent celebrity guests - Really great photo ops, wish I could have gotten more but I love the ones I got.
• Good vibes
• Helpful and friendly volunteers
• Overall wait times weren't bad except Saturday
• Food options were pretty decent quality and price for con food. And a coffee shop, thank god. 
• Floor was kept somewhat cool. Saturday had a lot of people so that was harder but over all not bad. 
• Lanyard options. I've never seen a con have lanyard options like this did. There was at least 15 or more designs. Only $5. or you could have the free nylon one. Made a good cheap souvenir. 
• Karaoke 
• Lots of after parties / events
• Good food locations near by

Meh:

Badges - I'm not sure why, maybe I'm missing something, but I do not understand the choices made in regards to badges.

• There was a scan in and scan out system. Which over all wasn't that much of a hassle except on Saturday when it was really busy. I understand why San Diego Comic Con does it. Their tickets sell out in hours, people scalp tickets and cheat the system to get their friends in etc. But Denver isn't that massive and was not sold out. Over all not a big deal, just a little annoying.
• Activating the badges. Once you received your badge you had to go on the website to activate it. Why? Who knows. But you had to refill out the information that was already given when purchased. A lot of people had problems with this part working. Also the con hall has ZERO cell service. Just seemed very unnecessary. 

Con floor - 

• Narrow walk ways, super congested. 
• Taped lines for celebrity autographs were super tight and uncomfortable. 

Anime After Dark -

• Unfortunately pretty lame, it was just a DJ in the hall way. Great that there was something for underage con goers to do though
