ThursdayDrove in Thursday, Its about a 6 hour drive from Salt Lake give or take. Road trip jams and what not. Shit talking and tea spilling. We stayed at Circus Circus. And I would love to break down that experience for you. We were very much aware what we were signing up for, but it was a hoot regardless. Viva Las Vegas also happened to be this weekend. I haven't been to Viva in several years so I stopped by to see some friends. It was great being able to catch up, I might consider going next year. FridayLVL UP was so different from last year. It was in the West Hall while the South Hall was under construction or something. This year we were in the South Hall. The line to get in was really long but it did move fast. Last year we never stood in a line to get in. But inside was huge, last year was spacious and mellow, this year was big and bustling. I'd say its on par with FanX, except the celebrity photo ops, which is FanX's strongest feature. There was a great selection of voice actors at LVL UP and a lot of great artists/vendors, though I feel like a lot of the Hazbin artists weren't there this year which was a little bit of a bummer. Experienced the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus. $60 for the day and does not include arcade credits. Super over priced in my opinion but because we came for the last two hours of the day it was discounted to $45. Some of the rides were pretty fun, the roller coasters however were too much for my old man neck. We skipped the arcade part since LVL UP had a free arcade gaming area at the con. But the CGI photos were epic. SaturdaySaturday was Hellaverse day! I met up with the best Hellaverse tattoo artist there is, Nikki Rex, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE! We waited in line for Brandon Rogers then I went to the cosplay meet up and bombed around the con hall. I wanted to meet other voice actors and Vizzie, but at the time the line for her was super long and I needed to eat something or I was going to kill someone. I didn't end up meeting her, she for whatever reason didn't have a VIP line like the rest of them did. But that's alright, I'll catch her at the next one. Photos by: Egonzo Photos Helluva ShowThe Helluva Show was amazing! It was a small intimate show at Area 15. Several of the voice actors preformed music from the show or those that have bands preformed original music. It was a blast. SundayDog shit Sunday, woof. I was tapped at this point. Mellow cosplay day then changed into sweats for the voice acting competition with the Vegas chapter of the Arizona Voice Acting Guild. Then we drove home! Bye bye LVL UP! The Circus Circus ReviewCircus Circus quality at a Circus Circus price
Over all, we think getting a more expensive hotel right next to the convention center would have been more cost effective. Walking to the con VS uber would have saved us money. Probably wouldn't have spent as much money on food with a hotel that offered breakfast. Also a hotel that had a mini fridge would have provided us the option of keeping left overs which would also save on food. Food was one of the big money sinks for us this weekend. Though I do have to say the burgers at the convention center food court were actually pretty good.
